RIAA Totally Misinterprets Jobs

The LA Times article reveals that the RIAA has it wrong. All wrong.

The RIAA should read Job’s open essay a little more carefully. They laud him for offering to license Apple’s FairPlay DRM to other player manufacturers and online stores, when he never did anything like it. In fact he thinks it won’t work at all.

Adding up the few Beatles tracks Jobs slipped into his recent MacWorld keynote, the name change to “Apple, Inc.”, the recent BBC news item about the Apple, Inc./Apple Corps agreement, and Job’s “Thoughts on Music” essay, the strategy is getting clearer.

Apple is now a media company!
